Why Proper SUP Care Matters
A quality inflatable SUP board is a significant investment. With proper care and maintenance, your Paeloop board can last 5–10 years or more. Neglecting basic maintenance, on the other hand, can lead to premature wear, leaks, and reduced performance. This guide covers everything you need to keep your board in top condition season after season.
After Every Session: The Essential Routine
1. Rinse with Fresh Water
Always rinse your board with fresh water after use, especially after paddling in saltwater or chlorinated pools. Salt and chlorine can degrade the PVC material and valve seals over time.
2. Dry Before Storing
Never store your board wet or damp. Moisture trapped inside the rolled board can promote mold and mildew growth. Lay the board flat in the sun or a well-ventilated area until completely dry.
3. Check the Valve
After each session, inspect the inflation valve for debris or sand. A clogged or damaged valve can cause slow leaks.
Inflation & Deflation Best Practices

- Inflate in the shade: Direct sunlight heats the air inside the board, causing pressure to rise.
- Deflate fully before rolling: Ensure all air is expelled before rolling the board for storage.
- Roll from the tail: Always roll from the tail (fin end) toward the nose to avoid creasing the valve area.
Storage Tips
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. UV rays degrade PVC over time.
- Avoid storing near sharp objects that could puncture the board.
- Store loosely rolled or flat — avoid tight rolling for extended periods.
- Keep the board in its carry bag to protect from dust and accidental damage.
- During winter storage, ensure the board is completely dry and store at room temperature.
How to Repair a Puncture
Small punctures are rare but can happen. Your Paeloop board comes with a repair kit. Here's how to use it:
- Deflate the board completely and locate the puncture (use soapy water — bubbles will appear at the leak point).
- Clean and dry the area around the puncture thoroughly.
- Cut a patch slightly larger than the puncture from the repair material.
- Apply PVC glue to both the patch and the board surface. Wait 2–3 minutes until tacky.
- Press the patch firmly onto the puncture and hold for 2–3 minutes.
- Allow to cure for 24 hours before re-inflating.
Fin Care & EVA Deck Maintenance
After each session, remove and rinse the fins separately. Clean the EVA deck pad periodically with a soft brush and mild soap solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers.
Annual Check-Up
Once a year, give your board a thorough inspection: check all seams for signs of delamination, test the valve for leaks, inspect the fin box, and check the D-rings and bungee cords for wear.
